paulus 26
Reading all the above makes me sick to the stomach. Born Hunter 17,960
Reading all the above makes me sick to the stomach. Money should never come into end of life care, never. Money comes into everything, it has to, stuff doesn't buy itself. It's finding the balance between funding for sufficient end of life care and funding for actually saving lives. No two opinions are going to be the same and all will have their pros and cons.

sandymere 8,263
There are lots of drugs that show good early results but fail in the real world. If this is really good it will get funding from people like cancer research etc. Remember pharmaceutical companies are business so won't invest millions in a drug that may well not work and even if it does won't give a return on the money invested. trenchfoot 4,243
Its not surprising, having worked for and run pharmaceutical companies. The technology, skills and framework to manufacture such a product nigh on exists within the NHS already. If there is no patent on it, then it could be done. The NHS would never have the gumption to do that and the Government haven't the budget to set it up. They would then approach the pharma companies for funding. The pharma company have no intellectual property right over the product and hence would have no financial gain to the company share holders. The NHS has been hamstrung by Labour mis-management and more recently the financial constraints placed upon it by the Tories and economical challenges. NHS management/ department of Health couldn't manage to find their arse with an atlas
